Our Team

Optometrist

Dr. Brendel was born and raised in New Franklin (Portage Lakes), Ohio. He graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Physiology. Dr. Brendel then went on to earn his Doctorate in Optometry from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) in 2014.

He prides himself in providing individualized comprehensive eye exams. Dr. Brendel has a special interest in pediatrics, ocular disease, bifocal and astigmatism correcting contact lenses, and co-management of refractive and cataract surgery.

Dr. Brendel and his wife Katelin (Getz), a lifelong Medina resident, live in Medina and have two sons; Christopher (5) and Alexander (3). Dr. Brendel is a passionate Cleveland sport and Ohio State fan. He enjoys playing outside with his boys, visiting family, and trips to the beach.

Dr. Jesse completed her undergraduate degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) and her graduate training at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She worked at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for three years, providing specialty contact lens fittings before transitioning to private practice.

Dr. Jesse has been practicing in her hometown of Valley City since 1996. Her career interests include offering comprehensive general optometry care and she enjoys the opportunity to give back to her community.

In her spare time, Dr. Jesse likes to garden, explore Lake Erie, and spend time with her husband, two grown children, and rescue dog.
